Maryland Farmer’s Markets You Need to Visit
The summer sun is shining and that means it’s time to get outside and head to your local farmer’s market for fresh produce, artisan breads and fair trade knick knacks. These are the Maryland farmer’s markets you need to visit this summer.
Central Farm Markets
Jam to Bluegrass tunes while hand-picking berries and sampling whiskey at Pike Central. Bring the kids for balloon animal fun. Choose from two Maryland locations for this farmer’s market. You can head to the Pike Central location on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the Bethesda Central location on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Rockville Farmer’s Market
It’s guaranteed freshness at Rockville Farmer’s Market where produce is freshly picked each day. Take your pick of baked goods, cut flowers, bedding plants, herbs and so much more. Make a day of it every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. until November 18.
Montgomery Village Farmer’s Market
Montgomery Village Farmer’s Market offers a variety of organic meats, fruits and straight-out-of-the-oven sweet treats. Grab a freshly squeezed lemonade at the Carolina Squeeze stand. Then, choose a specialty soap for mom at the Mom’s Beauty Secret booth. Head here Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. until October 28.
Shady Grove Market
Head to Shady Grove Market on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. from May to October. Get local and sample Maryland-grown wines or try on jewelry from artist Shannon Marie. Come hungry and have a meal from one of the visiting food trucks where you can taste test fish tacos, Louisiana cajun, barbecue and so much more.
Breathe in the fresh summer air and go sample some locally owned and produced fruits, veggies and more at one of these Maryland farmer’s markets this week.
